In short
- No accounts, no forms: the site never asks for your name, email or other details.
- No advertising, no social media buttons.
- We count visits with our own anonymous, cookie-free counter: your IP address is not stored.
- Fonts are served from our own server: opening a page doesn't contact other companies' services.
- We only use technical cookies that the site needs to work, which is why there is no consent banner.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Digicocktails only uses these:
| Name | What it does | Duration |
|---|---|---|
dc_lang | Remembers the language you picked with IT / EN, so the site opens in that language next time. It is only created if you choose the language yourself. | 12 months |
These are first-party technical cookies: only this site reads them, they are not used to profile you and they are not shared with anyone. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings; the site keeps working, it will simply pick the language from your browser again.
Data stored only on your device
A few preferences are kept in your browser's storage (localStorage). They stay on your device and are never sent to the site:
dc_bar: the ingredients you ticked in “What's in my bar”;dc_view: how the cocktail list is shown (grid or list);dc_units: the unit used for measures (ml or oz).
To delete them, use the “Clear all” button in “What's in my bar”, or clear this site's data in your browser settings.
Anonymous visit statistics
To understand which pages people find useful and where visitors come from, the site counts visits with its own counter, running on our server. It uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device and passes no data to other companies.
For each page opened we record: the page, date and time, the site language and your browser language, the name of the site you came from (for example “google.com”, not the full address), any campaign parameters in the link (utm), the device type with the operating system and browser family (for example “phone, iOS, Safari”) and, if you use the site search, the words you searched for.
Your IP address is not stored. To count the different visitors in a day, at the moment of the visit the server computes an anonymous code from your IP address, browser type and language, combined with a random key that changes every day. The previous day's key is deleted, so the code cannot be traced back to you or used to recognise you on later days.
This data is used only by us, to improve the site and to describe its audience with overall figures (for example visits per month); it is not used to profile you and is not shared with anyone. We keep it for 25 months, and data about automated programs such as search engines for 90 days, after which it is deleted automatically. The legal basis is the controller's legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) of EU Regulation 2016/679).
Server technical data
The site is hosted by Aruba S.p.A. As with any website, the server records technical data about requests (for example IP address, page requested, date and time, browser type). This is needed to run the service and protect it from abuse, a legitimate interest of the controller (Art. 6(1)(f) of EU Regulation 2016/679). This data is not used to identify you or combined with other data, and is kept for the period set by the hosting provider for these purposes.
The site also keeps an internal log of technical program errors only, which does not contain your IP address.
Links to other sites
Cocktail pages cite the sources of recipes and stories, with links to other websites. Those sites have their own privacy rules, which apply when you visit them.
Your rights
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you the right to request access to your data, its correction or erasure, restriction of processing, and to object (Articles 15–22). You can exercise them by writing to the contact above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).
Changes
If the site changes (for example with new features), we will update this page and its date before the changes go live.
