Amaro Nonino Quintessentia is an amaro from Friuli made by Nonino Distillatori. Originally grappa-based, since 1992 it has used the family's ÙE® grape distillate, aged at least twelve months in barriques and small ex-sherry casks, blended with an infusion of herbs and spices. The taste is balanced and less bitter than many amari, with candied orange peel, spice, liquorice and a cocoa finish. It is a key ingredient of the Paper Plane.
Strength: usually 35% ABV (legal minimum 15%).
