Applejack
- Spirits
- Alcoholic
Applejack is an American apple spirit with strong ties to New Jersey. The best-known modern style is a blend of aged apple brandy and neutral grain spirit, bottled at about 40% ABV, although the name is also used for straight apple brandies. It tastes of baked apple and oak, with a drier, more spirit-forward character than French calvados. It is a classic base for the Jack Rose, the Applejack Sour and the Jersey Lightning.
Strength: usually 40% ABV (legal minimum 40%).
Used in 2 cocktails.

Calvados great swap
Calvados is all apple and deeper, without the neutral grain base: the drink is more aromatic and a little less dry.
