Crème de mûre
- Liqueurs
- Alcoholic
Crème de mûre is a French blackberry liqueur, made by macerating ripe berries in alcohol for several weeks and then adding sugar, which lowers the strength. It is dark burgundy in colour, thick in texture and rich in blackberry, with a light tartness and floral hints. In cocktails it is often poured last over the drink as a final layer, as in the Bramble, the classic created in London in the 1980s.
Strength: usually 16% ABV (legal minimum 15%).
Used in 1 cocktail.
