Elderflower cordial
- Syrups
- Non-alcoholic
Elderflower cordial is an alcohol-free syrup of sugar and water flavoured with the blossoms of the European elder, with citric acid and lemon juice added to preserve it and give it freshness. It is a Victorian tradition of north-western Europe with older roots, made from flowers picked between late spring and summer. Its scent is intense, floral and honeyed. It is usually diluted with water; in cocktails it perfumes the Spicy Fifty.
