Ginger ale
- Mixers
- Non-alcoholic
Ginger ale is a ginger-flavoured carbonated soft drink that originated in Ireland in the mid-19th century; the pale, dry style, now the most common, was created in Canada in the early 1900s. It is made from carbonated water, sugar and ginger flavouring, and is sweeter and gentler than ginger beer, which has a much bolder, spicier ginger bite. That makes it a good match for more delicate drinks. It lengthens the Horse's Neck, the Bulldog Highball and the Shirley Temple.
