Ginger liqueur
- Liqueurs
- Alcoholic
Ginger liqueur is a spirit flavoured with ginger, made by macerating or infusing the root in neutral alcohol or cognac and then sweetening it; some recipes add vanilla, honey, citrus peel or orange blossom water. It has a spicy aroma and a peppery heat that lingers, balanced by sweetness and acidity. In cocktails it brings spice without the fizz of ginger beer and pairs well with whisky, gin and citrus.
Strength: usually 25% ABV (legal minimum 15%).
Used in 1 cocktail.
