Pink grapefruit soda is a carbonated, non-alcoholic grapefruit soft drink made with sparkling water, sugar and grapefruit juice or flavouring, often from pink grapefruit. It tastes bittersweet, with the gentle bitterness typical of the fruit. In Mexico it has long been tequila's natural partner, simply poured over ice. In cocktails it is the defining ingredient of the Paloma, bringing freshness, bubbles and a light bitter edge.
