Lemon
- Fresh
- Non-alcoholic
The lemon (Citrus × limon) is a citrus hybrid of citron and bitter orange, probably first grown in north-eastern India in the first millennium BC. Its yellow peel is rich in fragrant essential oils, while the flesh is sour from its high citric acid content. Here the whole fruit is meant, not the juice: cut into wheels or slices, it is used mostly as a garnish, for instance on the crushed ice of a Sherry Cobbler, with berries and mint.
