Lime cordial
- Syrups
- Non-alcoholic
Lime cordial is a non-alcoholic concentrate of lime juice and sugar, designed to keep the juice for a long time without alcohol. It comes from Scotland: in 1867 Lauchlan Rose, a ship chandler in Leith, patented a way of preserving lime juice with sugar. It tastes sweet and tart, softer than fresh juice. In the classic Gimlet it is the ingredient paired with gin, and many bars now make their own.
Used in 1 cocktail.
