Malibu coconut rum liqueur
- Liqueurs
- Alcoholic
Malibu is a coconut liqueur based on white Caribbean rum, with the rum produced in Barbados; launched in 1978, it now belongs to the Pernod Ricard group. At 21% ABV it is much lighter than rum, clear and sweet. The flavour is led by desiccated coconut, with a creamy touch and only a hint of rum. It is mostly drunk long, with cola as in the Malibu and Cola or with pineapple juice, and it makes tropical drinks simpler.
Strength: usually 21% ABV (legal minimum 15%).
Also known as: Coconut rum, Malibu
