Whole milk
- Creams & dairy
- Non-alcoholic
Whole milk is cow's milk that keeps its natural fat: under EU rules it must contain at least 3.5%, compared with 1.5-1.8% for semi-skimmed milk. Next to skimmed milk it tastes rounder and feels fuller, while remaining far lighter than cream. In cocktails it softens and lengthens drinks built on eggs, sugar and spirits, such as the Baltimore Egg Nogg, where it is shaken with ice together with a little cream.
