Orange flower water
- Other
- Non-alcoholic
Orange flower water is a clear hydrosol made by steam-distilling the blossoms of the bitter orange tree, with the essential oil, neroli, separated from the fragrant watery part. It belongs to Mediterranean and Middle Eastern tradition and is widely used in pastry. Its scent is floral and gently sweet, without any citrus sharpness. In cocktails it is measured in drops, since it easily overwhelms other flavours: it is the aromatic signature of the Ramos Fizz and a classic component of orgeat syrup.
