- Non-alcoholic
Cocktail orgeat is a syrup of almonds and sugar scented with orange flower water or rose water. The name comes from the French orge, barley, because it was originally made from a blend of barley and almonds. It tastes sweet of almond and marzipan, with a soft, almost creamy texture. It is a key ingredient in tiki drinks such as the Mai Tai and also appears in the Trinidad Sour.
