Pomegranate juice
- Juices
- Non-alcoholic
Pomegranate juice is pressed from the seeds of the pomegranate, an ancient fruit native to Iran and the Caucasus. For cocktails it is best made fresh: halve the fruit and squeeze it in a lever press, which gives about 60 ml per fruit. It tastes tart and astringent, with red berry notes, quite unlike the grenadine that is made by cooking it down with sugar. Topped with prosecco it becomes the Tintoretto, a cousin of the Bellini.
