Table salt is sodium chloride, mined from rock salt deposits or obtained by evaporating seawater or brines. Besides adding savouriness, it dulls the perception of bitterness and makes other flavours seem brighter. Cocktails use very little of it: a pinch, a few drops of saline solution or a salted rim on the glass. In the Paloma a pinch goes into the glass with the ice, before the pink grapefruit soda.
Used in 1 cocktail.
