Strawberry purée
- Fresh
- Non-alcoholic
Strawberry purée is made by blending fresh, ripe hulled strawberries until completely smooth. Today's cultivated strawberry was first bred in Brittany around 1750, by crossing a North American species with a Chilean one. It tastes sweet, fragrant and slightly tart, with a vivid red colour. In cocktails it adds fruit and body to sparkling drinks, as in the Rossini, the Bellini variation made with prosecco and strawberries.
