Sugar cane juice
- Juices
- Non-alcoholic
Sugar cane juice is the liquid obtained by pressing cane stalks in a mill. In Brazil, India, Egypt and South-East Asia it is a hugely popular street drink, often served with lime or ginger. Freshly pressed it is sweet, though less than expected, with grassy and floral notes, and it spoils quickly, which is why rhum agricole producers ferment it straight away. In cocktails it sweetens and perfumes the Planter's Punch.
