White crème de menthe
- Liqueurs
- Alcoholic
White crème de menthe is a sweet mint liqueur, clear and uncoloured, made by macerating or distilling peppermint and other mints in alcohol and then sweetening it. In style it matches the green version, from which it differs mainly by having no added colouring. Nose and palate carry a sharp mint freshness, softened by sweetness. In cocktails it adds freshness without changing the drink's colour: it partners cognac in the Stinger and also appears in the Big Apple.
Strength: usually 24% ABV (legal minimum 15%).
Used in 2 cocktails.
