Apricot brandy
- Liqueurs
- Alcoholic
In cocktails, apricot brandy is a sweet apricot liqueur, made by macerating or distilling the fruit and its kernels in neutral spirit, sometimes with a share of brandy, then sweetening it. It is not the dry apricot eau-de-vie, even though the English name can mislead. The flavour recalls ripe apricot with a hint of almond and a rounded sweetness. It adds softness and fruit perfume to drinks such as the Angel Face, the Apricot Flip or the Paradise.
Strength: usually 24% ABV (legal minimum 15%).
