The story
Origins
LegendA story passed down, not confirmed by the sources.
Neither the creator nor the year of creation of the Love Me Tender is known. The recipe appears in several online cocktail databases, such as The Webtender, Cocktail Builder and Quench Magazine, always with the same proportions: five parts Beefeater gin, three parts dry sherry, one part Aperol, one part peach vodka and a drop of apricot brandy, stirred and served in a cocktail glass with an orange twist. None of these sources tells its origin. Entirely different drinks also circulate under the same name, for example a Brazilian one made with Champagne and blackcurrant syrup and a simple mix of vodka, cranberry and lime.
