Chamomile cordial
- Syrups
- Non-alcoholic
Chamomile cordial is a sugar and water syrup in which chamomile flowers are steeped, often with a little lemon peel; the name follows British usage, where cordial means an alcohol-free syrup. It is a home or bar preparation, with no standard commercial product. It tastes sweet, floral and herbal. It appears in the IBA recipe for the Ve.N.To, a grappa-based sour, although the original version reportedly calls for a chamomile liqueur.
