Falernum
- Liqueurs
- Alcoholic
Falernum is a syrupy liqueur mostly associated with Barbados, made with cane sugar, lime and spices such as clove, ginger, almond and nutmeg, lightly fortified with rum. It is believed to date from the 1700s, when each sugar estate had its own recipe. The taste is sweet, with candied lime zest and clove. In tiki drinks and daiquiris it partly replaces sugar, adding spice and a lime perfume.
Strength: usually 11% ABV.
Used in 4 cocktails.
