Orange curaçao
- Liqueurs
- Alcoholic
Orange curaçao is a liqueur flavoured with the dried peel of bitter oranges, originally the laraha from the Caribbean island of Curaçao, popularised by Dutch traders. Unlike triple sec, it often adds herbs and spices to the orange; its base was traditionally rum, though many today use grain spirit. Styles range from dry and spicy to sweeter, with very different strengths. It is a classic in the Mai Tai, the Brandy Crusta and the El Presidente.
