Vanilla sugar
- Other
- Non-alcoholic
Vanilla sugar is sugar flavoured with vanilla, made by leaving pods or seeds in contact with the sugar or by adding vanilla extract. It is widely used in European baking and is often sold in small sachets; the cheaper version, vanillin sugar, contains vanillin instead of real vanilla. It sweetens and perfumes at the same time, with warm, soft notes. In the original Porn Star Martini recipe it sweetened the drink and was dusted over the halved passion fruit used as a garnish.
Used in 1 cocktail.
