Dark 'N' Stormy
Dark rum, ginger storm.
Spicy ginger beer with dark Bermuda rum floated on top, for a two-tone look that recalls a stormy sky. Simple and refreshing, it is considered the signature drink of Bermuda.

The story
Origins
LegendA story passed down, not confirmed by the sources.
The Dark 'N' Stormy is tied to Bermuda and the Gosling family, who settled there in the nineteenth century and from 1860 sold an aged rum later called Black Seal. According to the company's account, the drink was born at the end of the First World War, when British sailors on shore leave mixed Gosling's rum with homemade ginger beer. The name also has an anecdotal origin: a sailor supposedly compared its colour to a cloud only a fool or a dead man would sail under. Period evidence is lacking, however. What is certain is that the Goslings registered the name as a US trademark, in the late 1970s according to Difford's, and have defended it ever since.
