- Alcoholic
Champagne is the protected-origin sparkling wine of the Champagne region in France, made mainly from Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay. Its bubbles come from a second fermentation in the bottle, followed by at least fifteen months of ageing before release. The brut style combines lively acidity and fine bubbles with notes of citrus, apple and bread crust. In cocktails it lengthens and lifts a drink, as in the French 75, the Champagne Cocktail and Buck's Fizz.
Strength: usually 12% ABV.
Also known as: Brut Champagne or Prosecco, Brut champagne, Chilled champagne
Used in 6 cocktails.
