Prosecco
- Wines & bubbles
- Alcoholic
Prosecco is a protected-origin wine from Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, made from at least 85% Glera grapes. In its sparkling version, the most common one, the second fermentation usually takes place in large steel pressure tanks (the Martinotti method), which keep the fresh fruit aromas. It has lively bubbles and notes of apple, pear and white flowers, in styles from brut nature to demi-sec. In cocktails it adds lightness and a fruity touch, as in the Bellini, the Hugo and the Mimosa.
Strength: usually 11% ABV (legal minimum 11%).
Used in 8 cocktails.
