Vanilla vodka
- Spirits
- Alcoholic
Vanilla vodka is vodka flavoured with vanilla, natural or infused, which under European rules counts as a flavoured vodka and so must be at least 37.5% ABV. The taste is sweet and rounded, with suggestions of vanilla ice cream, white chocolate and butterscotch, yet the finish stays dry and lightly peppery. In cocktails it adds softness and perfume without a heavy load of sugar, and it is the signature ingredient of the Porn Star Martini.
Strength: usually 38% ABV (legal minimum 37.5%).
Used in 2 cocktails.

Vodka works
The built-in vanilla is lost and must be added as vanilla syrup, which one Difford's reader says integrates better; the drink is a touch drier.
