Mexican Mule
The Mule, Mexican style.
Tequila, lime and ginger beer served in the classic copper mug. It is the Mexican take on the Moscow Mule: the vegetal character of agave meets the heat of ginger in a fizzy, refreshing long drink.

The story
Origins
LegendA story passed down, not confirmed by the sources.
The Mexican Mule, also called El Burro, is a variation on the Moscow Mule, the vodka, lime and ginger beer long drink that became famous in the United States in the 1940s. The Mule family in turn descends from the Horse's Neck, a late 19th-century mix of ginger ale and a long lemon peel later fortified with bourbon or rye. None of the sources consulted say who first swapped vodka for tequila, or where and when: the drink spread as one of many Mule variations, served in the same copper mug.
