Galliano is a sweet golden Italian liqueur created in 1896 in Tuscany by Arturo Vaccari and named after Major Galliano, a hero of the Abyssinian campaign. It combines many herbs and spices with anise and vanilla; anise and mint lead on the palate, followed by fresh herbs, cinnamon and citrus. Recipe and strength have changed over time, and L'Autentico returned to the original formula at 42.3% vol. In cocktails it is the signature ingredient of the Harvey Wallbanger and Golden Cadillac.
Strength: usually 42.3% ABV (legal minimum 15%).
Also known as: Galliano L'Autentico
