Grenadine

Grenadine

  • Syrups
  • Non-alcoholic

Grenadine is a sweet red syrup named after the French grenade, meaning pomegranate: it was originally made from pomegranate juice, sugar and water. Most products on sale today are flavoured with red berries, cherry or added flavourings, often with colourings, and keep little of the pomegranate beyond its colour. The pomegranate version is fruity and sweet with a tart edge. In cocktails it brings colour and sweetness, as in the Bacardi Cocktail, the Cinderella and the Angel's Delight.
