The story

Origins

LegendA story passed down, not confirmed by the sources.

The Cinderella is one of the most common alcohol-free drinks in recipe books and bars, yet its origin is unknown: the sources consulted name no inventor, venue or date. Unlike the Shirley Temple, it has no famous backstory. The core is consistent, with orange, pineapple and lemon juice shaken together, while the details vary from one version to another: some add grenadine and soda, others lemonade or ginger ale, and the Difford's Guide version includes a few dashes of aromatic bitters. The fairy-tale name presumably suggests a festive drink that anyone can enjoy.
