The story
Origins
ProbableA plausible account, without definitive proof.
The Muddled Mission is credited to Joaquín Simó, who created it in 2008 at Death & Co, one of the bars that led the cocktail revival in Manhattan. The date and author are given by Difford's Guide and the Kindred Cocktails database, but no period documents such as menus or articles were found. The drink pairs an ingredient that was fashionable at the time, elderflower liqueur, with a small dose of Yellow Chartreuse for herbal depth. Difford's Guide offers an adapted version with London dry gin and the option of swapping the Chartreuse for génépy.
