Peach Caipiroska, aperitif cocktail. Glass: Rocks glass

Peach Caipiroska

Ripe peach, summer in a glass.

A summery Caipiroska in which blended peach flesh meets muddled lime, sugar and vodka over crushed ice. Soft and fragrant, it is a sweeter, home-style take on the classic.

The story

Origins

LegendA story passed down, not confirmed by the sources.

The Peach Caipiroska is one of many fruit twists on the Caipiroska, itself the vodka version of Brazil's cachaça-based Caipirinha. Fresh-fruit versions spread in Italy in the wake of the strawberry one's success, but for the peach version no inventor, place or date of origin was found, nor any reference recipe in specialist sources. The only recipe located comes from a cooking blog, which presents it simply as a summer drink to make at home with blended peach, lime, sugar and vodka.
